Meet Dell and Anner,
After visits to 8 different medical doctors with no correct diagnosis, Anner finally diagnosed herself with blethrospasms (uncontrollable contractions of her eyelids). Anner was virtually blind, she could not cook, clean, drive, or even watch TV. Her medical doctor (a specialist) offered her two treatment options:
1. Botox inections - Anner tried this in August 2000 with no results.
2. Surgery - Which removed her "blinking muscles" replacing them with fat, and then cutting the nerve to those muscles to permanently stop the muscle activity. Anner tried this in July of 2001 with no success and was still not able to keep her eyes open.
Finally, Anner meet Dr. Mayes at an Elks Lodge induction in Boise, ID. For the first time Anner had hope, Dr. Mayes said he could help her. The year prior was tough, ten different doctors said they could not help, and Anner come close to giving up hope. Now she has a fresh start on life. Her spasms have stopped, and she spends lots of her time telling others with blethrospasms, and many other uncurable conditions, to seek out an upper cervical doctor.
